Be aware and be alert – secure your doors

In recent weeks thieves have been targeting units and houses that have been left insecure. Leaving doors unlocked provides the opportunity for offenders to enter your home even when you are there.
In particular unit complexes in the Sunnybank, Sunnybank Hills, Eight Mile Plains, and Macgregor areas have been targeted.
We need your help to stop these thieves from getting in:

Ensure garage doors are locked and secure
Ensure external access doors are locked particularly at night when you are asleep
Ensure internal access doors are locked and secure
Vehicles parked inside the garage should be locked and secure and keys locked away
Be aware that alarms and CCTV cameras are often excluded from these areas

Thank you to all who supported the Cops and Robbers parkrun, Mansfield

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the local police at the Mansfield parkrun on Saturday.
It was great to see so many people attend the event embracing the Cops and Robbers theme with some great costumes and one police officer running in full uniform.
Over 20 police attended the Cops and Robbers parkrun event held at Tillack Park where they chased down 160 runners as they wound their way along the Bulimba Creek to the finish line.
Running to promote good health, runners had their speed detected and yelled out to them as they ran past with the day’s top speed reaching 24km/hr.
It was a great opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and interact with their local officers with lots of encouragement and high 5’s given out throughout the morning.

Would you like fries with that?

McHappy Day is a very special day at McDonald’s as part of an ongoing effort to raise funds in support of for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
This year marked one of the biggest years yet for McHappy Day as they celebrated their 25th anniversary and aimed to raise a record $3.7 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Since the first McHappy Day in 1991, the Australian community has helped raise over $20 million for RMHC. These funds have helped RMHC to both extend their programs and continue to provide much needed assistance to families with seriously ill children.
I was delighted to attend the local McDonald’s with some police recruits to help raise funds for this worthy cause. The recruits were observed interacting with the patrons, flipping a few burgers and even conducted some face painting for the children.
Thank you McDonald’s for having us and thank you to the community who attended
