Appeal for witnesses, Wakerley

Police are appealing for witnesses after man had his motorcycle stolen from Wakerley last Sunday, December 17.
Around 5pm, two men and woman attended a Taylor Place residence to inspect a motorcycle which had been advertised for sale online.
One of the men drove the motorcycle, a blue and white 2014 Yamaha YZ450F away while the other two fled in a white Nissan Navara.
The victim has given chase on another motorcycle and made several attempts to intercept the vehicle, however was unsuccessful.
Anyone with dashcam footage or information regarding the matter is urged to contact police.

Serious assault, Runcorn

Police have charged a man following the serious assault of a 44-year-old man in Runcorn this morning.
At around 5:30am a man was approached by another man, who was known to him, in a home on Springsure Street.
The man then allegedly assaulted him with a machete, causing wounds to his face, head and hands.
The injured man then fled the scene and was conveyed to hospital by a member of the public.
Police were alerted by hospital staff and attended the address in Springsure Street, where a 36-year-old man was taken into custody.
A 36-year-old Runcorn man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Weapons and stolen vehicles, Victoria Point

Detectives from Cleveland and Wynnum Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following the location of stolen vehicles and weapons at Victoria Point yesterday (December 21).
At about 4pm, police executed a search warrant at a property on Bunker Road where it is alleged four stolen trailers were located valued at over $300,000 along with a stolen Mack truck.
It is further alleged that a search of shipping containers situated on the property uncovered two loaded semi-automatic pistols, three revolvers, an air rifle and a quantity of ammunition.
Police located and arrested a 25-year-old Mount Ommaney man at the scene who was charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle and one count each of unlawful possession of category H weapons, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful possession of explosives.
The man is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.

Update: Murder charge, Chapel Hill

Police have charged a 36-year-old woman following investigations into the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man in Chapel Hill.
It will be alleged around 9pm yesterday an altercation between a man and a woman—who are known to one another—has occurred at a residence on Fig Tree Pocket Road. During this altercation the man sustained a serious injury to the chest.
The man received medical treatment at the scene but passed away as a result of his injuries.
A 36-year-old Chapel Hill woman was taken into custody and has subsequently been charged with one count of murder.
She is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Homicide investigation, Chapel Hill

Police have commenced investigations into the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man in Chapel Hill.
Initial investigations indicate that around 9pm yesterday an altercation between a man and a woman—who are known to one another—has occurred at a residence on Fig Tree Pocket Road. During this altercation the man sustained a serious injury to the chest.
The man received medical treatment at the scene but passed away as a result of his injuries.
A 36-year-old woman was taken into custody and a crime scene declared.
There are no further details at this stage.

Update: Armed robbery, Norman Park

A man has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a business in Norman Park last night.
It will be alleged around 9:15pm a man armed with a knife entered a store on Bennetts Road and placed a bag on the counter before demanding money from the male employee.
The employee complied and the armed man allegedly fled with a sum of cash.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Police today arrested and charged a 35-year-old Norman Park man with armed robbery.
He is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (December 20).

Speedy arrest results in return of stolen Christmas present

Last night at about 10.50pm, five teenagers gathered socially near the Brisbane Wheel in South Bank Parklands.
It is alleged that a 22-year-old man approached one of the teenagers and ripped a gold chain from his neck, which the victim had just received as an early Christmas gift from his father. It is also alleged that the man then stolen the victim’s baseball cap before walking away.
South Bank officers promptly responded to a call for service and located the man on Grey Street, South Brisbane. The officers arrested the man and allegedly located both items of stolen property in his possession.
Detectives subsequently charged the man with one count of robbery with violence and one count of wilful damage and he appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, December 20.

Armed robbery, Norman Park

Police are investigating an armed robbery of a business in Norman Park yesterday evening.
Around 9:15pm, a man armed with a weapon has entered a store on Bennetts Road and placed a bag on the counter before demanding the male shop assistant place money into the bag.
The assistant complied and the armed man has then left the shop towards Milsom Street.
Police located a number of items believed to be involved in the incident nearby, including clothing and a knife.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 195cm tall, with a tanned complexion and a long, gaunt face.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam vision from the area to contact police.

Update: Drugs charges, Brisbane and Gold Coast

Detectives from the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a total of 49 people with 199 drug related offences following an eight-month investigation targeting the importation and trafficking of dangerous drugs.
The operation Papa Checkmate culminated with a number of search warrants being executed in Brisbane and Gold Coast districts.
Throughout the operation police seized MDMA pills and powder, cannabis, cocaine, LSD, cash and property worth a substantial amount of money.
Three people charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs have appeared today in Brisbane and Southport Magistrates courts.
A 21-year-old Mount Cotton man faced sixteen charges including trafficking and eight counts of supplying dangerous drugs as well as three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
A 28-year-old Carina man was charged with eights offences including trafficking and four counts of supplying dangerous drugs.
A 27-year-old Southport man was also charged with four drug-related offences.

Local police help celebrate Christmas at the Brisbane Special Children’s Party

On Saturday, December 16, local police supported the 23rd Brisbane Special Children’s Christmas Party which was held at the Southbank Convention Centre.
Over 3,000 children from all over South East Queensland attended Queensland’s largest Christmas party for children that struggle with serious illnesses, special needs, disabilities or suffer from unique challenges in their life.
The children were treated to rides and entertainment, loads of yummy treats and new and exciting experiences including interacting with the police horses and puppies. They were also able to climb aboard the police inflatable boat, sit on a police motorcycle, and get behind the wheel of a police car.
The highlight of the day for the children was meeting Santa and being treated to Santa’s Toy Room, where they each received some fantastic presents to take home.
