Hi folks, South Brisbane Police are seeking the assistance of the community to identify the two men in this photo.
Whilst it is not the best image, the circumstances in our interest to speak with them will most likely inspire you to help.
At about 4:30pm on Monday January 29, it is alleged a male victim was travelling with his push bike in the vicinity of Brisbane State High when he was tricked by the two individuals pictured into trusting them to look after his bicycle whilst he got a drink of water in the school.
On doing so they have taken off with the bike.
The victim was a vulnerable member of the community and his mum had to report the matter.
The bicycle is a General Lee BMX, bright orange in colour with ‘General Lee’ written in Blue writing.
If you can assist please contact Policelink or Crimestoppers and quote the reference number QP1800187979.

Cross Cultural and Police Liaison officers embrace Chinese New Year celebrations
South Brisbane District Cross Cultural and Police Liaison Unit has an enjoyable and active period at the beginning of every year till mid-March, participating in culturally diverse Chinese New Year celebration events across the Brisbane Region.
Delightfully greeting 2018 the Lunar Year of Dog, our seven police dogs and their handlers were religiously blessed by Venerable Chueh Shan at Chung Tian Buddhist Temple. Dogs are one of the best human companion animals often symbolising guidance, protection, loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness, watchfulness, and love. The framed plague contains the 2018 greetings from Venerable Master Hsing Yun with his calligraphic print of “A Family of Loyalty and Honour”, which was accepted by the Commissioner Ian Stewart and kept by Dog Squad Brisbane.
We also attended the annual Spring Festival Parade which was initiated and coordinated by Queensland Chinese United Council who are affiliated with more than 40 local Chinese associations. The council highlighted the significance
Adopt-a-Cop duties at Saint Martin’s Catholic Primary School Carina
The kids at the Mayfield Catholic Primary School in Carina got to catch up with their favourite Adopt-a-Cop last week, Constable Kevin Mulhall from the Carina Police Station.
Constable Kevin thoroughly enjoyed his time engaging with the young minds of tomorrow and was happy to talk to them about personal safety and stranger danger.
These visits provide an opportunity for police to build rapport and perform an educational role within school communities. The interactions are extremely important to both the local community, the school community and the members of the QPS.
Good work Constable Kevin.
DV in LGBTI relationships: getting the conversation started
With the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into issues surrounding DV in LGBTI communities around the world, Senior Constable Ben Bjarnesen’s recent visit overseas has been nothing but invaluable.
As one of the recipients of the 2016 Churchill Fellowship Recipient, Ben was able to conduct research by working closely with international police jurisdictions across four countries.
Ben with the Chief of Washington DC Police
He met with seven police departments and 15 community support organisations last year, with the aim of better understanding and documenting domestic violence issues in LGBTI communities, as well as capturing best practice in policing responses.
“We are all aware that domestic violence is quite an issue within the general community but it can be more so within the LGBTI community and it is often under-reported,” Ben said.
“Internationally, it appears the most common factor stopping LGBTI people from reporting DV and hate crimes is historical events involving negative interactions with
Trailer thefts, Moorooka
In a four-week period from February 3 to March 3, seven trailers were stolen in the Moorooka area from both business premises and residential properties, representing almost two per week.
All trailer types have been targeted by thieves including tool trailers, camper trailers, box trailers, trailered boats and caravans. Trailers are hard to locate after they are stolen so it’s better to prevent the offence from occurring in the first place.
Effective security measures are the best criminal deterrent and we ask that the following is considered:
Place trailer in a location that can only be accessed by you and your vehicle.
Use a wheel locking device or a locking device over the ball connection of the trailer.
Secure the trailer away behind locked gates where possible.
Don’t leave property in the trailers for longer than necessary.
Call police immediately if your trailer or number plate is stolen.
Finally, trailer owners are urged to avoid leaving trailers parked
Russ Park takes centre stage at community day
Salisbury was the scene of family fun, great food and fast football action yesterday as locals got together to “Bring Life Back to Russ Park‘, an initiative sponsored by the Salisbury Community Sports Club, and The Stari Most – Old Bridge Football Club Brisbane.
Police Liaison Officer Hamza Shale and I had the chance to say hello to many in attendance on this hot and humid Sunday afternoon.
Events such as these showcase how lucky we are as a District to have such great facilities where the whole family, friends and the community can get together.
To all the organisers and those that work behind the scenes: keep up the great work.
