New Developments at the Oratory

Our own progress towards official establishment by the Holy See has taken a step forward at the diocesan level in recent months, with a Memorandum of Agreement being signed between ourselves and the Archbishop.  The Memorandum spells out various practical matters of the relationship between the Oratory, the parish, and the Archdiocese, and gives us the necessary permission to make more permanent moves regarding our Oratory house at Annerley.  This is a significant step towards our permanent and perpetual establishment.
One of the projects that has been undertaken in the parish over the last little while has been the reassembling of all the parts of the second confessional in Mary Immaculate Church, and it’s reinstatement for use as a confessional.

Drug trafficking arrests close interstate network, Brisbane

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Serious Crime Group have charged four men following a joint investigation into an alleged organised drug network with interstate links.
Yesterday, police officially closed Operation Radnor Foxcatcher, a protracted investigation with search warrants carried out on a number of Brisbane addresses.
This investigation targeted a number of people involved in the interstate trafficking of cannabis between Sydney and Brisbane.
The joint investigation with the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission commenced as a result of the intercept of a 24-year-old Doolandella man in Worongary on May 21 this year.
At the time detectives searched a vehicle and located 100 kilograms of high grade cannabis.
Ongoing investigations identified other members of the group and police will allege that between February and May this year the syndicate were responsible for the trafficking of 2.2 tonnes of cannabis.
To date, four men have been arrested including a 28-year-old from Durack, 28-year-old from Inala
