Local police help celebrate Christmas at the Brisbane Special Children’s Party
On Saturday, December 16, local police supported the 23rd Brisbane Special Children’s Christmas Party which was held at the Southbank Convention Centre.
Over 3,000 children from all over South East Queensland attended Queensland’s largest Christmas party for children that struggle with serious illnesses, special needs, disabilities or suffer from unique challenges in their life.
The children were treated to rides and entertainment, loads of yummy treats and new and exciting experiences including interacting with the police horses and puppies. They were also able to climb aboard the police inflatable boat, sit on a police motorcycle, and get behind the wheel of a police car.
The highlight of the day for the children was meeting Santa and being treated to Santa’s Toy Room, where they each received some fantastic presents to take home.
We’d like to thank the organisers of this wonderful event.
Dangerous driving and robbery, Tingalpa
A driver was confronted by two men with a baseball bat and had his wallet stolen during a dangerous driving incident on Wynnum Road in Tingalpa yesterday.
Around 6am, the 35-year-old man was driving a white 2007 Ford Falcon ute outbound on Wynnum Road when he overtook a stolen grey 2011 Holden Commodore station wagon which was driving under speed in the left lane.

While on the southbound onramp to the Gateway Motorway, the station wagon pulled in front of the ute, forcing the driver to stop.
The driver and passenger, described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in their mid-twenties, then got out of the station wagon and confronted the 35-year-old.
