Locals celebrate 61st Independence Day of Ghana
Despite the gloomy weather, members of the local Ghanaian community along with representatives from the Queensland Police Service joined together on the weekend to celebrate the 61st Independence Day of the Republican of Ghana. Ghana was the first sub-Saharan country to gain independence in 1957. The theme for this year’s celebrations was “the journey to greater success”.
Attendees of all ages enjoyed traditional music and cuisine in the picturesque New Farm Park. Many thanks to Nicolas Botchway, and the rest of the management committee Ghanaians Queensland for the invitation. It was an honour to celebrate with you all at this beautiful gathering and historic occasion.
