Join us at the Buddha Birth Day Festival in South Bank

From May 4 to 6, the Buddha Birth Day Festival returns to Brisbane for its 22nd birthday and within a week more than 2,500 red lanterns will brighten the South Bank Parklands.
With the inclusion of energy saving LED globes together with a range of other sustainable measures, the Buddha Birth Day Festival is now recognised as the largest accredited climate friendly event in the Southern Hemisphere.
Venerable Chueh Shan, Abbess of the Chung Tian Buddhist Temple, the co-organiser of the Buddha Birth Day Festival, reflects that “these Red Lanterns symbolises hope for the world. A small good action can make a difference, for a single lantern allows one person to read but 2,500 lanterns can brighten up a whole Parklands.”
The Buddha Birth Day Festival is listed as one of the iconic events of Queensland and signature events of Brisbane, commemorating Australia’s harmonious diversity. With 200,000 visitors, over 1,000 volunteers, 400 performers

Major Drive Park Community Day, Rochedale

Thanks to the residents of Rochedale who attended Major Drive Park Community Day on Saturday, April 21.
Residents of the local Neighbourhood Watch came together and enjoyed a sausage sizzle while the kids were entertained with a jumping castle and games.
The event was supported by local government members and the Brisbane City Council who kindly donated some plants for the residents.
It was great to see so many residents taking the initiative to be proactive and seek advice in relation to their home security.
A big thank-you to the Police Liaison Officers and Volunteers in Policing who assisted on the day and to the local residents who organised the event.
