Fatal traffic crash, Murarrie

A 17-year-old boy has died overnight following a traffic crash on Administration Road at Murarrie, under the Gateway Bridge.
Initial investigations indicate just after 11pm yesterday, two boys were gathered in a carpark when one attempted to run and jump into a moving Nissan Navara utility.
The boy slipped in wet conditions and slid under the moving car.
Emergency services were called but sadly the boy passed away a short time later.
The 17-year-old driver was not physically injured.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations.

Break and enter with violence, Coorparoo

Police are investigating a violent break and enter offence involving the theft of two vehicles that occurred at Coorparoo early this morning.
At about 12am, three men armed with knives and an iron bar entered an address in Buena Vista Avenue and assaulted a 43-year-old man.
The three men fled the scene with a quantity of cash and property including two sets of car keys and a credit card.
The men attended a nearby automatic teller machine and withdraw a quantity of cash from the man’s bank account before returning to the Buena Vista address and stealing a white 2016 Mazda CX-9, Queensland registration 079WSH and a grey 2015 Mazda 6, Queensland registration 193WFH.
The man was treated at the scene for a minor back injury.
Investigators are appealing to any members of the public who where travelling in the area between midnight and 1pm who may have relevant dash cam footage to contact police.

Armed robbery charges, Murarrie and Cooparoo

Police have charged a man with the armed robbery of a Murarrie service station on January 7 and the attempted robbery of a man at Cooparoo overnight.
It will be alleged that a man armed with a knife entered a Wynnum Road, Murarrie service station around 9.55pm on the 7th threatening a 37-yeear-old male employee before fleeing on foot with a sum of cash.
Police will allege a man armed with a knife attended the Coorparoo Railway Station last night (January 15) where he threatened a 21-year-old male employee, forcing him into an office area demanding cash.
When no cash could be provided it will be further alleged the man forced the employee to change clothes with him before he called police at around 9.10pm regarding a man acting suspiciously.
Police attended and were quickly advised by the victim that the offender was now wearing his uniform.
The man was arrested without incident.

Appeal for witnesses/dashcam footage: Serious traffic crash, Greenslopes

Police investigating a serious crash on the Pacific Motorway in Greenslopes today are appealing for dashcam footage.
At about 11.15am a silver Ford Focus bearing Queensland registration 131 ZCM has allegedly lost control whilst travelling northbound on the Pacific Motorway near Marshall Road.
The car struck a guard rail on the left-hand side shoulder causing the car to spin.
The driver of the car a 58-year-old Nerang man didn’t suffer any injuries.
The back passenger a 24-year-old Chermside woman suffered serious spinal injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed the car prior to the accident or has dashcam footage to contact police.
Investigations continue.

Robbery arrests, Wacol and Heathwood

Two men and a woman have been arrested following the alleged robbery of a Wacol service station this morning.
Shortly before 2.30am, a male employee was in the rear of the Boundary Road business when they heard glass smashing and observed two men force entry.
Once inside they jumped the counter and stole a number of cigarette packets and ice creams from a freezer nearby before fleeing in a black coloured Mercedes sedan.
The attendant was able to lock themselves in a room at the rear of the premises.
A short time later officers were patrolling the Ipswich Motorway and observed the vehicle travelling west.
The sedan was later found abandoned in Leslie Street, East Ipswich.
Dog Squad officers tracked the occupants to an address at Farr Street where two men and a woman were arrested.
Investigations indicate the same vehicle was used during the alleged robbery of a bakery on Staplyton Road at Heathwood yesterday morning.

Appeal for information: Armed robbery, Murarrie

Detectives have released CCTV of an armed robbery in Murarrie on Tuesday, January 7.
At 9.55pm an unknown man has entered a service station on Wynnum Road and threatened a staff member with a large kitchen knife.
The unknown man demanded money from the cash register before leaving with a sum of money on foot.
The staff member was not physical injured.
The unknown man is described as Caucasian, about 180cm tall and was wearing a grey hoodie, grey t-shirt, light jeans and black sneakers.
Police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the footage to contact police.

Amendment – Shooting incident, Moorooka

Police are investigating a shooting incident at Moorooka last night.
Just before 11pm, a shot was fired into a house on Abney St.
Investigations suggest the shot caused damage to the outside of the house and a wall inside the residence.
Four people were home at the time, however no one was injured as a result of the incident.
Any members of the public who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or who may have relevant information is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

Operation Metro – Logan District and South Brisbane District

Detectives have charged seven people today as part of the culmination of Operation Metro; a three-month proactive effort targeting members and associates of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
Around 6.00am, detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad and Logan District executed five simultaneous raids at Springwood, Ormeau, Marsden, Parkinson and Daisy Hill, where they allegedly uncovered a number of firearms, drugs and OMCG clothing.
A 32-year-old Daisy Hill man has been charged with one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing tainted property and failing to comply with a direction.
He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 21.

Hit and run, Rocklea

Police are appealing for assistance after a motorcyclist was hit by a car in Rocklea this morning.
Around 8:30am officers were called to the inbound side of the Ipswich Motorway following reports a white utility had struck a motorbike and left the scene.
A black Triumph motorcycle was travelling inbound on the motorway between the Granard Road exit and the Sherwood Road exit about half an hour earlier.
Initial investigations suggest the white trayback was being driven dangerously through traffic before forcing the 35-year-old rider from Heathwood off the road.
He became stuck on the tray of the ute for a few metres before he was able to detach himself and subsequently crashed the bike.
The white utility was last seen speeding off and the motorcyclist was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident caused significant delays to traffic.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with dash cam vision or information to contact police.
