Fatal traffic incident, Chelmer

A 33-year-old woman has died following a serious traffic incident that occurred in Chelmer this morning.
Around 7am, police were called to the intersection of Honour Avenue and Bridge Street following reports of a pedestrian struck by a utility.
The pedestrian, a 33-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she sadly away as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the utility was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dashcam is urged to contact police.

QPS win inaugural BIC Ramadan Futsal Challenge

The month of Ramadan is an important time of year for many. It is an ideal time to engage with our friends throughout the community and to foster positive relationships for the benefit of all.
Over the years, several platforms such as public forums, community gatherings and Iftar dinners have commonly been used to spread the messages of peace, respect and understanding between cultures.
In 2018, we can now add one more platform to this list: The World Game.
In a closely contested championship match, police officers from the South Brisbane Police District took out the main prize in the Inaugural Bosnian Islamic Centre (BIC) Ramadan Futsal Challenge on Saturday, June 2, at the Bosnian Mosque in Eight Miles Plains.
With scores teetering on the edge for most of the match, the boys in blue finished strong to claim a 4-2 victory against the local Imams.
