Alleged armed robbery, Altandi

Police have charged a boy and a girl over an alleged robbery at Sunnybank on Sunday, May 3.
The incident occurred at approximately 11.10pm at Altandi Railway Station.
A 12-year-old girl allegedly forcibly removed another woman’s jumper before giving it to one of two teenage boys in the vicinity of the station.
The trio then fled from the scene and police were called shortly after.
A 12-year-old girl from Wavell Heights and a 15-year-old boy from Oxenford have been charged with one count of child under 18 robbery in company with personal violence.
Investigations are continuing.

Serious traffic crash, Coopers Plains

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car crashed at Coopers Plains this afternoon.
At 5:50pm, a blue Nissan 200SX was travelling in a westerly direction on Boundary Road, when the driver lost control, resulting in the Nissan colliding with a power pole.
The driver, a 37-year-old Rochedale South man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam vision to please contact police.

Police officer stood down, Brisbane Region

A 43-year-old constable from Brisbane Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.
The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear for stealing whilst off duty.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.
This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.

Increase in burglaries and vehicle offences, Mansfield

Police from Holland Park Police Station have recently responded to an increase in burglaries and vehicle related offences in the Mansfield area.
Police have increased their mobile patrol in the area and encourage residents to report any suspicious activities or persons, even if it seems trivial.
If police are not aware of your concerns, we cannot prevent further escalation of offences.

Update: Serious skateboard incident, Arana Hills

A 40-year-old man has died following a serious traffic crash at Arana Hills on Wednesday, March 18.
At 7.15pm, emergency services were called to Napean Avenue following reports a man was lying on the roadway.
Initial information suggests the man lost control of an electric skateboard before falling and hitting his head.
The 40-year-old man was treated for injuries at the scene before being transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital where he died on March 19.
The Forensic Crash Unit will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Fatal traffic crash, Eight Mile Plains

A 58-year-old man has died following a serious traffic crash at Eight Mile Plains on Saturday, April 4.
Around 7:30pm, police were conducting routine patrols on Warrigal Road when they noticed a black Harley Davidson tricycle laying on a footpath.
When they approached the tricycle, officers noticed a man laying unresponsive underneath.
Officers rendered first aid to the man immediately before paramedics transported the 58-year-old man to the Princess Alexandra hospital where he died on April 8.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dash cam footage, is urged to contact police.

Dangerous operation charges, Caboolture

A man and two women have been charged after allegedly driving a stolen Alfa Romeo Giulietta dangerously from Tingalpa to Caboolture overnight.
Shortly before 8pm, police were advised by members of the public about the hatchback travelling at excessive speeds and driving dangerously through a number of traffic lights on Wynnum Road at Tingalpa.
Around 9pm, Polair observed the vehicle allegedly travelling at excessive speeds north on Gympie Road and monitored as it continued through North Brisbane, Pine Rivers and towards Caboolture.
The vehicle was seen allegedly continuing at high speeds and on the incorrect side of the road including the Bruce Highway.
Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle a number of times without success when it pulled into the back of a Caboolture shopping centre in Elliot Street where the occupants fled into a second vehicle.
The second vehicle evaded police and continued through a number of streets in Caboolture before officers successfully deployed

Appeal – Serious assault, Burbank

Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into a dispute between two drivers yesterday which resulted in a 20-year-old man being seriously assaulted.
At 1.40pm on April 29, the man and his female passenger were in his black 2005 single cab Toyota Hilux utility, driving behind a grey Prado bearing false plates on Valley Way at Mount Cotton.
Both vehicles drove a short distance before they pulled over to the side of the road at Burbank.
The driver of the Prado exited his vehicle and walked over to the utility driver and punched him in the face. The impact broke the man’s jaw in two places.
The Prado driver then came back to the utility and kicked the driver’s door shut, causing a large dent in the vehicle.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man depicted in the vision or the new model

Random speed cameras re-introduced as travel restrictions eased

To combat the increasing number of deaths on the state’s road, police will re-introduce random speed cameras and continue to patrol speed limits.

Police appeal for witnesses after alleged assault, Mount Cotton

Redland Bay Police are appealing for public assistance after an alleged assault in the Mount Cotton area recently.
At approximately 1.50pm on Wednesday, April 29, two drivers of seperate vehicles were involved in the incident on Valley Way, Mount Cotton after pulling into an emergency stopping bay in the eastbound lanes before Heinemann Road.
The driver of a black 2005 model Toyota Hilux, was allegedly punched by another motorist, causing injury.
Police would like to speak to the driver of a grey Toyota Prado, described as a Caucasian man, aged between approximately 25 to 35-years-old with black stretcher earrings in both ears, tattoos on his left arm and wearing a black and grey t-shirt and blue track pants at the time of the incident, as he may be able to assist police with this investigation.
