Woman seriously assaulted at Toowong

Brisbane detectives have charged a man with a number of serious offences including acts intended to maim (domestic violence) and strangulation (domestic violence) following the alleged serious assault of a woman in a Toowong park yesterday (June 14).
Police will allege the pair became involved in an argument around 6pm during which time the woman was physically assaulted, including punched several times about the head and face and strangled.
The 18-year-old woman managed to struggle free and flag down a passing motorist.
She received non-life threatening injuries including severe facial swelling, abrasions and bruising.
A 32-year-old Indooroopilly man appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning and has been remanded in custody to re-appear in Court on the above charges as well as contravening a domestic violence order and wilful damage.
Investigations are on-going with detectives appealing for witnesses to the alleged assault.

Alleged prolific property offender, Brisbane

Brisbane detectives investigating a spate of recent property offences committed on Brisbane’s north and southside, have released images of a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations.
Detectives want to speak to 31-year-old, Mitchell Connor in relation to these investigations with police believing he may be in possession of a handgun and are urging members of the public not to approach him.

From early April, 2017 vehicles and personal property have been stolen from car parks and garages – many of which would be considered secure parking locations – in Norman Park, New Farm, Albion, Lutwyche, Nundah, Windsor, Spring Hill, Kelvin Grove, Northgate, West End and Coorparoo.
Similar offences have also occurred in Burleigh Heads and Southport.
Detectives are investigating in excess of 30 separate incidents with property stolen including motor vehicles, number plates, house keys, garage remote control, smart phones and motorbikes.
