Burglary with violence, Balmoral
Detectives are investigating after two men broke into a home in Balmoral early this morning.
Just after midnight, two men forced entry into the home on Riding Road by smashing a glass window with a hammer.
A male occupant confronted the two men, but they grabbed the baseball bat he was holding and used it to assault him.
One of the men ransacked nearby rooms, and the pair fled outside with cash, watches and other personal items as well as the spare key to the home occupants’ car.
The men got into the car, but were unable to start it.
The male resident attempted to stop them from stealing the car, however was assaulted by the men again before they fled on foot down the street towards Victoria Street.
The first man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 175 centimetres tall with short blonde hair.
