Serious assault, Inala
Police are investigating after a man and woman were assaulted at a residence in Inala last night.
Preliminary information suggests around 10.10pm two women became involved in an argument with a man and a woman at a Lorikeet Street address.
The women left the house and returned a short time later with some male associates who allegedly assaulted the man they had been arguing with, hitting him numerous times with a metal pole, rock and chain.
One woman then allegedly assaulted the other female by punching and head butting her in the face.
The two victims managed to flee the scene and call for help.
A 41-year-old man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a serious head wound along with a 19-year-old woman who sustained broken teeth from the incident.
Police attended the scene and located a 24-year-old woman with a head injury. She was transported to QEII Hospital for further treatment and is currently
Queensland police crack down on oyster thieves
Forget the stock squad and stolen cattle, it seems thieves have their sights set on oysters and police are cracking down on culprits throughout south-east Queensland.
Update: Robbery with violence, Sunnybank
Detectives investigating the robbery of a 70-year-old woman in Sunnybank on August 28 have released a comfit of a man which may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Preliminary information indicates around 10.30pm the woman was parked in her car at an address on Aminta Street.
After exiting her vehicle she was approached by a young male who demanded she hand over her wallet
Another man then approached her from behind, grabbed her handbag and attempted to pull it from her shoulder.
The woman called for help and during the struggle she fell to the ground, causing injury.
The two men then fled the scene with the woman’s wallet.
She was transported to Greenslopes Hospital for further assessment.
The men are described as possibly teenagers, Caucasian in appearance and were wearing dark clothing.
It is possible they were travelling in a dark coloured Mitsubishi Lancer or Mazda 3 which had been parked on nearby Comley Street.
