Attempted armed robbery, South Brisbane

Three girls are in custody after they allegedly attempted to rob two others at the Cultural Centre in South Brisbane this morning.
Around 9.35am, three girls approached a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old woman – both from Moorooka – in the grassed common area above the Queensland State Art Gallery and allegedly threatened to hurt them if they didn’t hand over their money.
The victims said they had no money on them, and one took out their phone to call police.
It was then that one of the girls allegedly produced a box cutter with the blade extended before all three ran off.
They were located about an hour later on Cordelia Street.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
The girls, two aged 14 and the other 11, are assisting police with their enquiries.
