Update: Attempted murder charge upgraded, Capalaba

A man has had his charge upgraded following the death of a 65-year-old man, who was allegedly set on fire at Capalaba on September 1.
Police will allege a 34-year-old man poured an accelerant on a 65-year-old man, who was asleep in bed at a Teesdale Road residence.
The man ran from the residence, with the flames extinguished by members of the public before emergency services arrived.
The man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition however passed away this afternoon.
A 34-year-old Kooralbyn man has had his charge of attempted murder upgraded to murder and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, September 5.

Armed robbery, Runcorn

Detectives have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with inquires in relation to the armed robbery of a convenience store at Runcorn today.
Around 10.15am a man entered the Condamine Street store and threatened a female staff member with a knife, demanding cash.
The staff member complied and the man was last seen walking towards Crompton Road.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, medium build, wearing a black jumper and black long pants.
Anyone who has relevant dashcam vision or any further information is urged to contact police.

Armed robbery, Fairfield

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a residence in Fairfield this morning.
Initial investigations indicate at 10.15am, a woman left her Wilkins Street West home, leaving a male gardener working in the yard.
A short time later, the gardener heard noises coming from the house and observed a man inside.
The gardener approached the man, who produced a screwdriver and made threats before leaving the scene with a laptop and iPad.
He was last seen in a Holden Commodore being driven by a female.
No-one was physically injured.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in his 20s.
Investigations are continuing.
