Upper Mount Gravatt detectives investigating an incident at Sunnybank this morning in which a teenager was allegedly stabbed have charged a man with acts intended to maim / disfigure / disable, as well as going armed so as to cause fear.
The 33-year-old Sunnybank man has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday morning, November 20.
A 17-year-old Sunnybank Hills man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition with a stab wound to his neck.
The teenager was standing outside a licensed venue in Mains Road around 10am when he was approached by a man who police will allege assaulted him after a very brief conversation in an apparent unprovoked attack.
The man was not known to the teenager, who, holding his neck then fled the scene running to a nearby shopping centre where members of the public assisted him and

Unlawful wounding, Sunnybank
Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the neck in Sunnybank this morning.
Initial information suggests that around 10am, two men were involved in a verbal dispute outside of a licensed premises on Mains Road.
The argument escalated, during which time one of the men sustained a stab wound to the neck.
Police and emergency services attended, and a 33-year-old man was taken into custody. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
A 17-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
Investigations are continuing.
