Armed robbery charges, Mount Gravatt East

Detectives from Upper Mount Gravatt CIB have charged a 20-year-old Wynnum West man with a number of offences including robbery with violence, attempted robbery, stealing and fraud.
It will be alleged that at about 7.08am on November 18 the man attempted to rob a taxi driver in Canterbury Street, Mt Gravatt East. After exiting the cab it will be alleged the man approached the driver’s side window of the cab to speak with the driver. The man demanded the driver give him money and has then punched the driver in the face. The man did not obtain any money and fled on foot.
Later on the same morning at about 9am it is alleged the same man called another taxi to attend an address in View Street, Mount Gravatt. It will be alleged that whilst in the taxi the man has demanded money from the driver whilst assaulting him. No money was

Update – Suspicious fire, Tingalpa

Investigations into a suspicious fire which destroyed a clubhouse in September at sporting fields in Tingalpa, have resulted in the arrests of three girls.
Around 10.15pm, police and emergency services arrived to find the building on Manly Road fully engulfed.
A section of Manly Road between New Cleveland Road and Castlerea Street was closed to allow fire crews to extinguish the blaze.
Yesterday, detectives from South Brisbane Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) charged three girls, aged 14 and 15, with trespass, endangering property by fire and arson.

Serious traffic crash, Annerley

A woman remains in hospital after a serious traffic crash at Annerley tonight.
Initial inquiries indicate around 7.50pm a moped was travelling right from Junction Terrace when it turned into the path of a Honda Jazz.
The rider, a 22-year-old Spring Hill woman, has been transported to the Royal Women’s and Brisbane Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating.
