At about 6pm on Sunday, June 25, staff from a small business in South Brisbane – received four counterfeit fifty dollar notes for takeaway food. Yes that’s a lot of take away food! The notes appear to be almost identical to actual currency however the print / colouring itself is faded as per the attached image.
Small business owners should be wary of customers purchasing small quantities of goods using fifty dollar notes. They are also encouraged to look at currency as it received.
Police are seeking assistance to identify the two males in this CCTV footage, who may be able to assist with their investigations.
