Annerley’s Christmas calendar will get an early festive addition when the Brisbane Oratory Christmas Markets return to Mary Immaculate Hall for their third year, bringing local makers, families, and parishioners together for a two-day event in November.

Organised by the Brisbane Oratory in Formation, the markets will feature handmade gifts, homemade treats and Christmas decorations, with stalls run by members of the community, including children.
Shoppers can browse a variety of products ahead of the holiday season, with the selection extending beyond traditional religious merchandise. Belts, pouches, and skincare products are among the items available, alongside seasonal decorations and homemade treats. The program will offer two opportunities to visit, beginning with a twilight market on Saturday, November 21, before continuing with a morning session the following day.
Local Creativity Takes Centre Stage

The markets provide an opportunity for community members to share their creative skills and introduce their products to local shoppers. The involvement of children alongside adult stallholders also gives younger participants a chance to contribute to the weekend’s activities.
Visitors can expect a range of gift ideas, from handmade items to baked goods, with products suited to different interests. The variety also means shoppers can look beyond conventional Christmas presents while supporting people within their local community.
Following two previous editions, the return of the markets for a third year continues an event that brings together the parish and the wider Annerley community.

A Festive Gathering Ahead of Advent
The November event also falls ahead of Advent, the Christian season of preparation leading up to Christmas. The Brisbane Oratory has highlighted the markets as an opportunity for the community to recognise the talents and skills of those taking part, while preparing for the Christmas season.
Held at Mary Immaculate Hall in Annerley, the weekend gathering will feature an evening session and a Sunday morning market, giving residents and visitors time to browse the stalls and meet the people behind the products.
With handmade gifts, homemade food and community participation at its centre, the markets will offer Annerley residents another opportunity to come together as the Christmas season approaches.
