Synthetic Drug Operations Unit shaves for a cure

The team in the Synthetic Drug Operations Unit (ILIT) have banded together to help raise more than $5000 for the Cancer Council in honour of a fellow officer.
The officers have joined QPS staff and police from across Queensland to raise money for the important cause following a recent breast cancer diagnosis of a fellow staff member.

Detective Senior Sergeant Sasha Finney was the first of eight to brave the shave on Wednesday morning (June 24), and was proud to lead the charge.
“It looks fab!” Detective Senior Sergeant Finney said.
“I’m glad I have a nice shaped head.”
Detective Senior Sergeant Finney was proud to do her part for the cause.
“This has been a huge team effort,” she said.
“Not only from us here in State Crime Command, but also those in the regions.”
