The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is aware of protest activity planned at Kangaroo Point on Sunday, June 21.
While a public assembly on Walmsley and Lockerbie streets has been authorised, the disruption of traffic on Main Street has not.
Police have been urging people not to attend protests to ensure they can comply with the Chief Health Officer’s directions in relation to COVID-19.
If anyone does attend a protest, they should not gather in groups of more than 20 and should ensure they practice social distancing and good hygiene.
Anyone who feels unwell should stay at home and not put others at risk.
While the QPS respects the right for lawful and peaceful protests in accordance with the Peaceful Assembly Act 1992 (Qld), violent or criminal behaviour will not be tolerated.
