Over the last few weeks, South Brisbane District has received 20,000 masks, donated from local Chinese and Taiwanese charity and community organisations.
The organisations include Queensland Chinese community COVID-19 Response Committee, Queensland Guangxi Multicultural Communities, Tzu Chi Foundation Brisbane and Tzu Chi Foundation Gold Coast.
These masks have been delivered to the police operation centre based in North Brisbane District and have been utilised during COVID-19 related operations at both the Brisbane International and Domestic Airport and various designated self-quarantine hotels in Brisbane Region.
On behalf of the Queensland Police Service, South Brisbane District Senior Management expresses appreciation to all Chinese and Taiwanese community leaders for these real time donations and recognises the community’s united efforts against COVID-19.
In addition to the hospital medical front-liners that received the Personal Protection Equipment donations from these organisations, the extended warm generosity will be gratefully felt by our frontline officers during this difficult time in Queensland.
