Officers from the South Brisbane District Cross Cultural Liaison Office were once again invited to participate in annual Eid Prayer Celebrations at the Islamic College of Brisbane on May 25.
This year’s program, however, was slightly different due to COVID-19, with the morning prayer not taking centre stage.
Improvising and adapting to continue the tradition
Instead, the event featured a drive through handover of meals and well wishes. This set up was developed in order to maintain social distancing conditions whilst still satisfying the needs of the community during the auspicious occasion.
Sergeant Jim Bellos said that the Queensland Police officers in attendance were honoured to be involved once again this year.
