South Brisbane District’s Cross Cultural Liaison Officer Sergeant Jim Bellos had the privilege of presenting a number of Student of the Month Awards at the Murri School in Acacia Ridge (Aboriginal and Islander Independent School) on February 28.
Winners are grinners! Congratulations to the students awarded this month
The presentation was a double celebration as the event marked 10 years for the Sergeant as the school’s official Adopt-A-Cop.
Sergeant Bellos regularly presents these ‘deadly’ awards, which aim to promote the three R’s (Rights, Respect and Responsibility).
“These engagements are integral in fostering respect and understanding between the students, police and community,” Sergeant Bellos said.
“It also allows us to discuss topical issues such as bullying, cyber-bullying and personal safety in a safe and positive environment.”
Well done to all the recipients and congratulations to Sergeant Bellos on this incredible milestone.
