In conjunction with Queensland Road Safety Week, the South Brisbane District Crime Prevention Team along with the Road Policing Unit and Volunteers in Policing attended Westfield Garden City today, to turn the screws on crime.
Number plate theft remains an ongoing concern as thieves target these accessories to avoid detection when committing further offences.
The replacement of anti-theft one-way screws is one alternative action in which we can all participate to help prevent crime in our community.
Acting Senior Constable Amanda Rinaldi report strong interest in this crime prevention activity.
“It was rewarding to see members of the public taking up this free offer, as well as discussing and providing home and vehicle security information,” Acting Senior Constable Rinaldi said.
If you missed this opportunity, anti-theft screws can be purchased through your local hardware stores.
Crime prevention remains a priority for the South Brisbane District and is everyone’s responsibility.
