Chinese Community Safety Awareness Day

Officers from across the South Brisbane District recently joined members of the Australian Queensland Cultural Exchange Association and a number of community partner agencies on Saturday, July 13 to host a special community forum.
The forum promoted awareness around safety and an understanding about police services.
The free event was hosted at the MacGregor State School.
It showcased many aspects of policing and allowed attendees to mix and mingle with various units and police representatives.

Acting Sergeant Vernon Wootton said the goal of the event was to build better relationships with the Chinese community and the whole of the South Brisbane District.
“We have resources and presentations available in a number of languages and we encourage everyone to take part in these types of forums,” Acting Sergeant Wootoon said.

Chief Superintendent Brian Swan said efforts are being made by all policing agencies to reduce crime and foster relationships across the South Brisbane District.
