NAIDOC family fun day at Musgrave Park

West End’s famous Musgrave Park was on full display for its annual Family Fun Day on Friday July 12 and South Brisbane officers were proud to take part in the fun.
The event was part of NAIDOC Week celebrations and showcases many elements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and their achievements.

The day featured many activities including food stalls, art and craft displays, live music, performances and a vast array of organisational information tents.
Officers from across the South Brisbane District joined their counterparts from across the state to take part in celebrations throughout the day – many of whom had the chance to show off their uniforms featuring the iconic Look to the Stars artwork.

Senior Police Liaison Officer Doug Peachey said today’s celebrations were the largest of its kind in Australia and brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities from near and far to showcase our Indigenous Australian culture and heritage.
