South Brisbane officers promote Indigenous well-being and culture

South Brisbane police officers took part in the Long Walk to support Indigenous community members
On Saturday, June 1, officers from across the South Brisbane Police District, along with hundreds of locals, took part in this years Long Walk event beginning at Kurilpa Point Park, which was a joint partnership with AFL Queensland, Deadly Choices and the Brisbane Lions.
Several high profile personalities including three-time premiership winning Brisbane Lion stars Ash McGrath and Chris Johnson along with Olympic Gold Medallist and former politician, Nova Peris and Patrick Johnson who represented Australia at the Olympics in sprinting – walked hand in hand with our officers in support of addressing Indigenous issues and promote Indigenous well-being and culture.
Representatives from the Queensland Police Service walked in uniform as a demonstration of their commitment to the Queensland community and to show that all Queenslander’s deserve respect, equality and fair treatment.
