On Saturday May 11, officers from the Road Policing Unit and Dog Squad, including PD Quid, a detection dog, joined Sunnybank officers at Hoyts Cinema for a community engagement event.
The aim of this event was to educate local community memebers about road and personal safety, especially whilst out and about. Police took the opportunity to particularly raise awareness for the Fatal Five which are the five contributing factors to the majority of fatal incidents.
Senior Constable Louise Newbould from the Sunnybank Police Beat also had an important message to share with all parents and guardians.
“Please do not tell your kids that if you are naughty the police will take you away,” Senior Constable Newbould said.
“Police want kids to come to us when they are in danger or trouble.
“Next time you are out with your kids and see our officers patrolling, please feel free to approach and talk to us.”
