Christmas came early in South Brisbane for some very special children. Police from Crime Prevention, Road Policing Unit, Mounted Unit, Dog Squad, Railway Squad, Water Police and Police Recruits, all assisted to make the day as memorable as possible.
3000 children with terminal illness, intellectual and physical impairments and some suffering from domestic violence or physical abuse were invited to attend to share in some Christmas joy.
Our new Police Recruits were given some instructions on how to make balloon animals to hand out to kids – we bet they missed that skill set listed in their police applications!
Water Police and Traffic Police assisted children onto Police Bikes and a Police Boat. While some children preferred to pat horses or a puppy.
The event was enjoyed by the little kids and the big kids alike.
Police are looking forward to the event again in 2019!
