Don’t make it easy for thieves!

As we head into the warmer months, and towards Christmas, residents are urged to be mindful of keeping their homes secure.
In recent weeks, homes in the South of Brisbane have been burgled by thieves who have been able to enter through open and/or unlocked windows and doors and balconies.
Expensive jewellery, handbags, cash, car keys and vehicles have all been taken in these offences.
Don’t make it easy for thieves! Keep your doors and windows locked when you are not home, and even if you are home and in another part of the house, it’s a good habit to get into.
Don’t leave tools, ladders and other items lying around outside the home for the thief to use to gain entry to your home. Don’t leave your keys under a brick or a pot plant, thieves know where to look!
