Did you see us? It’s time to Wake Up South Brisbane for road safety!

If you were driving down Wynnum Road, Cannon Hill last night you could hardly miss us!
The first of our road safety events occurred last night as part of Operation Wake Up and we are pleased to say that results were overwhelmingly positive!
2,334 people took part in random breath testing during the night with no one being found to be driving over the limit.
Operation Wake Up!
Unfortunately, three people returned a positive indication for driving under the influence of a drug. It’s unfortunate because two of our fatal crashes this year involved driving under the influence of drugs.
Police will await further analysis of these tests before charges are laid. Following a positive laboratory result, motorists will be notified and charged with a traffic offence for drug driving.
Operation Wake Up, was launched yesterday by the District Officer of South Brisbane District, Acting Chief Superintendent Virginia Nelson to address our increase in fatal traffic crashes
