West End Station is represented by a lot of different countries as first generation, second and third generations from England, New Zealand, Iran, Croatia, China, Russia, United States of America, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Netherlands, Greece and of course, Australia!
To celebrate the many cultures that make up West End Station and the diversity of Australia, general duties officers and support staff brought in food from their country of origin to enjoy an international food day.
The foods on offer were Adas Polow (Iranian lental rice), Malaysian chicken curry, Indian chicken curry, Chinese fortune cookies, English scones, Barmbraic (Irish fruitcake), Baklava (Greek dessert), Leche flan (Malaysian dessert), Winter hats (Croatian dessert) and the popular sausage on bread (Australian snag sanga).
West End Station would also like to pay respect to the Traditional Owners, and ongoing custodians of the land – the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – and specifically the Kurilpa Tribe of West End.
