The South Brisbane Police District (SBD) hosted an Reference Group Meeting featuring religious, cultural and business leaders from the local Indian Community to discuss the finalisation of court proceedings relating to the tragic passing of Manmeet Sharma.
Also attending the meeting was Archana Singh, the Honourable Indian Consulate of Queensland. The meeting took place at the Upper Mount Gravatt Police Station and was chaired by Acting Superintendent Tony Ridge.
The meeting was opened by SBD’s new Chief Superintendent Brian Swan.
The meeting included a panel of Senior Police Management and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch.
Attendees had the chance to ask questions surrounding the investigation and aspects of the ongoing process stemming from the case.
Mrs Pinky Singh, the President of the Punjabi Welfare commended Detective Sergeant Dennis Silk for his professionalism and competence in the way the investigation was handled and Mrs Singh also commended SBD for the proactive engagement with the community
