A day at Australia Zoo with Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit

Each year Detectives from Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) take a group of young child survivors who have been a victim of abuse out for a day of adventure. This year we had 12 wonderful children aged between 12 to 17 years of age.
The day started with a yummy breakfast at Bracken Ridge McDonalds. After breaky the kids then jumped back in the Police bus and headed to Australia Zoo.
The children were given entry and VIP treatment from the zookeeper with getting up and close with some of the animals. The kids also got to feed the Kangaroo’s and see some Joey’s in the mother’s pouch.
After feeding the animals it was off to the Crocoseum to watch the big croc in action. One of the kids said “I feel like a king” as he entered the Crocoseum.
