Today, officers from the South Brisbane District joined thousands at the Annual NAIDOC Musgrave Park Family Fun Day.
The event celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and achievements, the day included food stalls, live music, performances and many organisational information tents.
Officers patrolled the park in their new authorised uniforms featuring the QPS Look to the Stars artwork. Which were loved by the local community.
Joining in the celebrations were Acting Chief Superintendent Michael Niland and Inspector David Jackman, who although weren’t wearing polo shirts were still swept away for photos with community Elders.
Acting Chief Superintendent Michael Niland said that today’s event at Musgrave Park was a great way to celebrate NAIDOC week.
“It was a privilege to meet with some of our community Elders from across South East Queensland,” he said.
“Being part of the community celebrations is a great honour, and today displayed the history and rich culture of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.”
