Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2018 came to an end in Inala with a Women’s Wellness Event spearheaded by Police Liaison Officer (PLO) Yen Nguyen and the team behind the Inala Multicultural Community Network.
What initially began as a small forum for multicultural women eventually evolved into a day-long seminar featuring presentations, legal advice and a gourmet lunch for over 100 women from all walks of life.
Presenters from a number of community and not-for-profit associations had the opportunity to address the crowd and provide key information on the rights and responsibilities of migrant women.
Acting Senior Sergeant Danielle Fioriti, Crime Prevention Coordinator for the South Brisbane District also also addressed the audience and reaffirmed the support of the QPS.
The main topic of the forum was putting an end to Domestic and Family Violence within the community.
“Raising awareness for Domestic and Family Violence is incredibly important” said PLO Nguyen.
“An opportunity such as this will provide women
