Congratulations to our Volunteers in Policing – South Brisbane District

South Brisbane District has so much to celebrate and this past week we have celebrated our Volunteers in Policing (ViPs) as we approach 20 years of ViPs in the QPS.
South Brisbane District has a proud history of utilising the service of ViPs to expand our capabilities.
These amazing people share their time without seeking compensation, only appreciation.
Last year our 57 ViPs, across South Brisbane, provided more than 13,000 hours of service, their tasks include:

victim of crime support
crime prevention dissemination
conducting home security audits
disseminating crime alerts
domestic and family violence victim assistance
supporting NHW and targeted community engagement

The ViPs predominantly work in conjunction with the crime prevention teams in South Brisbane’s and are critical to supporting the work our members do in stopping crime and making the community safer.
On Friday, May 25, we celebrated their formal acknowledgement at the Volunteering Queensland Awards held at City Hall.
This was a wonderful way of highlighting the positive changes

Spread the love
