South Brisbane District recently launched a three-part crime prevention video series featuring local resident Wally Lewis to help reduce motor vehicle offences in the community.
The first instalment focused on basic vehicle security methods as an effective measure to help prevent thefts from vehicles.
The second instalment focuses on removing property to reduce thieves’ interest in gaining access to your vehicle.

South Brisbane District Crime Prevention Coordinator Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Hebblethwaite wants everyone to get into the habit of removing property before leaving their vehicle unattended.
“Property left visible inside vehicles can act as a magnet for attracting opportunistic thieves so we recommend property be removed from the vehicle or if unable to, be placed out of sight in the boot, glove box or under seats,” Acting Senior Sergeant Hebblethwaite said.
“We also recommend essential items such as phones, keys and wallets/handbags, never be left in vehicles as they are commonly items
