Police urge business owners to conduct an assessment of their premises as offenders are targeting construction yards and car yards in the Inala area. The offenders are in search of tools and copper wire and are seeking unlocked storage sheds and containers or poorly secured items at these premises and removing them.
For the safety of your business and your employees, Police recommend reviewing your current security systems. Perhaps its time to revise some of the following:
Locking doors and windows and installing security screens and appropriate lighting.
Review locks and security on external sheds, containers and other storage facilities.
Review cash handling and banking procedures.
Warning signs/stickers to deter intruders eg No Cash on Premises
Consider CCTV cameras and alarms.
Reporting any suspicious behaviour to Police will prevent and solve crime.
