On Sunday February 25, Queensland Police Service (QPS) Dog Squad attended the Chung Tian Temple Cultural Open Day to help celebrate the Year of the Dog for 2018.
Dog Squad handlers, police dogs and puppies were invited to attend the very special occasion which was the very first QPS Police Dog blessing ceremony.
As leader of the pack, Commissioner Ian Stewart ensured the police dogs and puppies were on their best behaviour whilst receiving their blessing to help keep them safe.
After the peaceful blessing ceremony handlers and their dogs mingled with the great number of families in attendance who all wished the officers peace and harmony whist performing their duties.
The day was enjoyed by all the officers and dogs and was a great opportunity to experience a wide range of traditional Chinese New Year activities.
